Who We Are
Buystream.tv was founded in October 2007. It's story, however, began much earlier. Beginning in 2004, Buystream’s founder and CEO Mark Thomas began working in the e-commerce industry. At the time he noticed that his site's conversion rates were well below 1%. In 2005, in an effort to increase conversion rates, he made a simple (and by his own admission 'terrible') video about a product on the site. Not surprisingly, this video helped sales on this product to more than double.
Seeing the results rich media could have on a website first hand, Mark decided to work on a solution which would further enhance video content. Back in those days, interactive elements inside a video were rare and awkward. Mark began assembling a team to produce a technology that was sensible, effective, and simple to use. Throughout the past two years, Buystream.tv recognized a growing need not only in e-commerce, but also in online advertising.

Board of Advisors
Byron Elton
Byron Elton has over 25 years of media and marketing experience with a proven record in pioneering new business development strategies and building top-flight marketing organizations. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Univision Online. Byron served for eight years as an executive at AOL Media Networks, where his assignments included Regional Vice President of Sales for AOL and Senior Vice President of E-Commerce for AOL Canada. His broadcast media experience includes leading the ABC affiliate in Santa Barbara, California and the CBS affiliate in Monterrey, California, in addition to serving as President of the Alaskan Television Network. Byron received his BA in Communications from Brigham Young University.
Scott Thomas
Scott Thomas is a proven entrepreneur. He successfully started a Yahoo Store and grew it into a multi-million dollar company. His vast network within the e-commerce market assists Buystream.tv in forming invaluable channels of distribution.
Todd Holmberg
Todd Holmberg partnered with Scott and helped grow their business for the past six years. Todd is currently acting as CFO for Buystream.tv and has helped finance the development of Buystream’s technology. Todd received his BA in Business Management from the University of Utah.

Mark Thomas
Mark Thomas is the founder and CEO of Buystream. His passion, dedication, and persistence helped take Buystream.tv from concept to finished product. In 2004, Mark went to work for a small e-commerce business called Airgun Depot. After watching conversion rates stay well below 1%, he began working on a concept to boost sales through video. This concept turned into reality as his interactive video platform helped double and triple conversion rates on airgundepot.com. Three years later, Buystream.tv was formed to help other e-commerce businesses, advertisers, and publishers get more out of their existing web traffic by maximizing their sites with video. Mark received his BA in Communication Studies from Brigham Young University.
Craig Read-Smith
Craig Read-Smith is an experienced Chief Technology Officer, Software Development Manager and Senior Software Architect/Engineer who has significant experience in the design, development and management of software projects in the Defence, Retail and Investment Banking and Telecommunications industries. Craig has fourteen years commercial experience in Australia, United Kingdom and the United States. During that time he helped successfully deliver many projects using the latest of technologies. Craig has experience working for Multinationals as well as venture capital and self funded start-ups. Craig joined Buystream.tv as CTO in 2008.
Brandon Orton
Brandon Orton is the creative director and vice president of video production. His expertise in the video industry provides insight into Buystream’s strategic decisions. In 2005, Brandon worked for Shmidt and Seville, one of Utah's premier video production companies, as a full-time producer. He produced a successful TV show with audiences in Utah, California, and Nevada. In 2007, Brandon recognized the exciting opportunities available in rich media and joined Buystream's. Brandon currently works with clients to help with their creative video needs.
Daniel Higbee
Daniel Higbee is our Chief Marketing Officer. With over 15 years’ experience in enterprise sales and marketing, Dan’s responsibilities include overall marketing strategy, customer engagement and retention, partnerships and global sales. Throughout his career, Dan has been a leader. Pioneering new and effective ways to engage customers and promote the “Customer for Life” mentality that buystream.tv strives to achieve with each of our customers.
